St George’s Park Visit

On Wednesday 23rd May our students were invited to St George’s Park the head of the Football Association to take part in the UEFA A Coaching course.

The journey to St George’s Park was full of laugher, banter and team bonding; on arrival at St George’s Park the students were taken back by the initial views.
One student said “Wow look at that pitch!”, little to the students knowledge it would be the one we ended up training on.

The scholars took part in sessions, which was led by former Man Utd goalkeeper Eric Steele. Whilst the players were being made ware of the exercise one noticed former Newcastle Utd legend Peter Beardsley who was studying his UEFA coaching.

Following four hours of football the session was drawn to a conclusion, Mick and Peter personally thanked all of our players for their time and efforts.

Glenn Vaughan said “It was a fantastic experience for our students and they way they conducted themselves was a credit to themselves. We have already been asked to attend a number of time during the next academic year”.

Our final open event of the year takes place at Netherton Utd FC, The Grange, Peterborough, PE3 9ES on Thursday 28th June from 6:00pm till 7:00pm.
