Club Update – FA Charter Standard

One Touch Football Club are delighted to announce that we have received our FA Charter Standard award for another year. This award is given to clubs by the FA who have met requirements outlined by the FA and is presented to clubs who heavily contribute to the local community.

One Touch Football Club has successful enrolled over 90 players, with the Peterborough Junior Alliance league ranging from age groups U7 to U12.

In these unprecedented times we have kept our players training and as a team. We have set up weekly sessions delivered via Zoom with majority of our club players; logging on and getting their football fix every Saturday morning. The sessions have been a mix of ball manipulation, improving techniques in a number of different aspects, whilst adding little bits of fun into the sessions. The sessions are proving very popular and as a club we are pleased with how the players have engaged and continued their progression in football.

Last Friday we also hosted a Club Family Quiz Night, again proving to be a great success, the chance for the One Touch Football family to come together, socialise whilst tackling some testing questions from quizmaster Glenn Vaughan. The rounds included general knowledge, a football round and a popular music round.

As we look to next season, we begin to make plans the best we can. We are now recruiting school Year One (2019/20) to become part of this exciting community football club. We train every Thursday evening and play on a Saturday. If your son/ daughter would like to get involved within then register your interest by emailing Glenn@onetouchfootball.co.uk

Glenn Vaughan said “ Whilst it has been a difficult time for all aspects of football it was nice to receive this award to uplift the mood and to announce to our players and their families. I am thrilled with how well the online sessions have worked; it’s not ideal but its keeping the players safe and playing football. It very clear all our players are missing football and fingers crossed it won’t be too much longer until we can begin to look at getting the players back playing but first and foremost we have to ensure to our players, coaches and families are safe, well and healthy, this is the main priority.”
