** A New Partnership Formed With a Professional Club **

** A New Partnership Formed With a Professional Club **

We are delighted to announce we have formed a partnership with Nottingham Forest Football Clubs FDC which will give all of our players the opportunity to progress into the professional game.

This will see a clear distinct pathway into a fantastic set up, a number of fixtures against them and opportunities for our players to attend fixtures.

At present we have 14 in their FDC in Grantham and 2 within the academy programme, this is a fantastic achievement of the players whilst a real benefit from the coaching they have received by our highly qualified and experienced staff.

Glenn Vaughan Said “ We are delighted with the partnership which will offer our players of all age a real pathway into a fantastic set up and club itself. We have a number of players in their set up already and will look to continue to develop this link itself”.

Mark Williams said “ FDC Grantham is one of 4 Development Centres ran by Nottingham Forest Football Club and covers the Lincolnshire locality.
It’s aim is to bridge the gap between grass roots football and academy level and has a proven track record of players signing for NFFC Academy in every year of it’s FDC lifespan.
We look forward to continuing our successful links with One Touch into the future.”

New 16+ Academy Venue!

Our expansion continues as we add another venue for September 2018 where our Football Academy & Education Scholarship will be offered.

We are delighted to form a partnership with Holbeach United Youth FC based at Holbeach United Community Sports Academy where our students will benefit from the magnificent purpose built facilities.

This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity for local budding footballers from Holbeach, Spalding and surrounding towns and villages.

The students will receive UEFA coaching for 15-20 hours a week whilst studying a BTEC level 2 or 3 in Sport which has been rated GOOD by OFSTED. Included in our programme students will also work towards achieving an FA Level 1 Coaching Qualification as well as becoming a qualified referee. The opportunities we offer on this programme are endless, and we are delighted to be able to offer an educational programme of this nature locally.

Stuart Clark, Vice Chairman added “The trustees of Holbeach United Community Sports Academy are proud to be working with One Touch Soccer School to launch an educational based football scheme for 16-18 year olds. Since the opening of the Academy in 2015, we have been able to offer football to over 250 children and young adults aged 7-18 and have 17 teams currently using the facility. Having spoken with Glenn at One Touch and gaining an understanding of what the course has to offer school leavers, we are pleased that our community facility can be used on a daily and weekly basis to enhance and develop these young adults.”

Glenn Vaughan, Academy Director said, “We are delighted to have secured another fantastic facility and have the backing of Holbeach United Youth FC to help us create what will be a sensational centre. The opportunities this centre will offer our students are endless and I can’t wait to get it off the ground and make a start, it’s all very exciting. Knowing the success we have had at Netherton and Oakham, I am confident this centre will attract many players who want to move up the pathway into playing a higher standard of football or those wanting to gain a recognised qualification.

We will be holding our first open event on Thursday 15th  February 2018 from 1:00pm till 3:00pm at Holbeach United Community Sports Academy.

One Touch Football Celebrates 10th Anniversary

In September 2007 One Touch Football was launched by Glenn Vaughan. The concept was simple: to provide fun school, after-school and club sporting activities around the area. In that first month Glenn delivered sporting sessions to around 100 primary school children. Fast forward 10 years and Glenn’s ‘team’ is now delivering a range of sporting activities to over 1,000 children each week. And, the One Touch success story shows no sign of stopping…

Despite the name, One Touch Football delivers a vast array of sports and activities delivered by experts in their field. “We aim to offer the best services and experiences for all our players and students. We work our way up from the bottom. I feel so proud to see kids active and inspired,” commented Glenn.

However, football remains a key focus of One Touch. After Glenn decided not to pursue a career in professional football, he still wanted to play a key part in the sport and the development of children of all ages and abilities. Glenn currently has ‘One Touch’ teams ranging from Under 6s through to Under 14s, all competing in local leagues and playing professional club academies. Whilst Glenn prides himself on seeing children progress as footballers, he has seen a number of his players progress to professional academies.

“A good coach is someone with the ability to not only progress a player’s ability, but to also spot talent and help develop that and provide an opportunity to take their footballing to the next level. One Touch has enabled a mass of players to join professional club development squads and academies, and our close affiliation with these clubs mean we regularly play academies,” said Glenn.

One such player that Glenn coached is Morgan Penfold who has signed a professional contract with League One high flyers Peterborough United.

So, what next for One Touch? Well, this month (almost exactly 10 years to the day that One Touch was founded) Glenn has launched a  16+ Football Academies, in Netherton, Peterborough. These academies provide post-GCSE students with a chance to receive UEFA coaching and conditioning, whilst studying a BTEC in Sport at either a level 2 or 3 (equivalent to 3 A Levels). Sessions are delivered by UEFA qualified staff, taught by experienced teachers who have been rated OUTSTANDING by OFSTED.

One Touch also supports many charities and has hosted a number of charity events such as a 24-hour Football Match for #TeamGeorge, our own campaign ‘Boots For Buddies’ and supporting one of our own who used to play for One Touch ‘Work Hard Aim High –  The Seb Gould Trust’.

So, does Glenn plan on taking his foot off the gas? “Not a chance! I never thought what was a personal passion, hobby of mine and just a dream as a young lad would become a reality. I never dreamt of having the success One Touch has and I am proud of what I have achieved. It’s something that I want to continue to build as I feel that often physical activity and exercise in children is forgotten about. I hope my story inspires those who don’t make it as a professional footballer to realise that there are other ways to be involved. I look forward to what the next 10 years brings.”
